A little post today because I am busy with some chores at home and online studies *wink*. Yup! Never stop learning! I just want to say:

Happy Pride Month!

I'm sure there will be a lot of controversies and brows would be raised by many since I am a mother and its not usual for a mom to support something like this. But I've always believed in equality among genders and respect for every human. Homosexuality had always been a topic viewed with opinions not so favorable. I do have a son and one thing that would always be on top of my wishlist is for him to find his happiness. The happiness that is boundless and comes from the heart. I know its not easy to accept if my son would tell me he prefers differently but for now all I can say is I'll cross the bridge when I get there. I know my motherly heart will guide me. Gay people are nice to be with, fun and full of life. I have a lot of close gay friends and I'm happy to have them be part of my life. Some of them are even godparents of my son. I was able to gain their respect because I respected them too. And so I was able to understand their need for acceptance, understanding, and love. And you know what? Its not so difficult loving them at all.

All is fair in love. Love is love, no gender, no race, no color, no rules, is arguable when it comes to manifestations of love.

Stay positive and pass it on.

Last night, we spontaneously drove to the world's biggest book sale: Big Bad Wolf! It was, of course, my idea because I love books and I am in the process of constructing my future library, only it is still ongoing in my mind for 15 years now hahaha. Yes, 15 years, because I've always dreamt of having my own library in my own house. Maybe someday it will come true so for now, let me first collect as many books as I can to fill my library. Right? Right!

The Big Bad Wolf is the world's biggest and most affordable book sale. It originated in Malaysia with the main purpose of encouraging people to read books again. This year, this book fair will be stopping in Manila for 10 days only (February 16-25). But no worries because the book fair will be open 24 hours. That's right, the whole day, all 24 hours of it.

I was able to score some books at the fair but I was not able to find all the books on my list. I've got 15 books listed but since this is my first time in a book fair this big, I was not able to make the most of what it offers. I think as should have researched more, but as I've mentioned, our trip to the Big Bad Wolf Book sale was unplanned so all in all, I think it was worth the trip.

I do have some reminders though for those who want to visit the event. Based on my experience at the book fair, I hope you these can help you when you get to the place.

1. Please eat before entering the event place. The event place is the whole area of World Trade Center and its gonna tire you just by walking around every table. There's a cafe before you can enter the halls of the WTC where you can eat, maybe some pastries or sandwiches, just enough to fuel your energy for book hauling.

2. Don't forget to go to the loo before entering the WTC halls. Why, because if you feel like peeing and you can't control it anymore, you need to exit the whole place and go through the entrance again. Yes, they won't allow you to go back to the entrance, hence, you need to go to the  exit, leave all the books you collected (in case you're not yet ready to pay) and go back to the entrance to the hall so you can use the restroom.

3. If you are bringing kid/s, please always hold them. We went to the event at night time around 11 PM and there are still lots of people, most of them with children too, and if you are not careful with your child, he can easily get lost in the crowd.

4. Have a list of books you want to buy. The big place and the number of books inside WTC is so overwhelming. If you have no particular book in mind to buy, it may be difficult to choose which one you really want to purchase.

5. ENJOY! The books are discounted at least 50% and most if them are hardcover. All the more you want to bring home most of them!

Here are some of the pictures I took while going around Big Bad Wolf Book Sale:

Finally, some good purchases for me!

Last night, I've read on a news article regarding opening of additional slots for passport renewal in the DFA appointment system. This is such a great news as everybody knows how late you can get an appointment in their system. I've tried to secure an appointment last June, to my dismay, the slot given to me was on October. It means I already have a schedule for my passport renewal but I need to wait 4 months for the appointment. AAWW!

Thank you DFA for opening up new slots for passport applications and renewals because a lot of Filipinos are waiting for this! I've tried to change my passport application appointment to an earlier date and got an appointment on September 2 at the DFA Megamall branch. Love it!

For walk in passport application or renewal, senior citizens and children age 7 below, need not book an online appointment. There's a priority lane for them and they can just walk in to the any DFA branch.

Hurry now! Stay positive and pass it on!

And that, my friends, is my main motivation for today's post. :)

I wish I could have the enthusiasm to write every single day. Unfortunately, there are some days my mood affects my drive to write. And when that happens, I really struggle to go back to writing as I feel that I do not have any interesting subject/topic to write about.

Thankfully, I stumbled upon this FB page: Writing About Writing and saw the picture above. It was hilarious at the same time reminded me of how long my blog has been idled. The owner of the FB page would also posts things about not giving up when it comes to writing though a lot of times it takes a great effort to put into words what is exactly going on in your mind. So, thank you for this FB page! I figured out I am not alone in the struggle :)

The truth is, I have so many things in my mind that I want to write about. Unfortunately, when I am about to start writing, something would always come up, like I need to attend the my kid, or a household chore needs to be finished, etc. And then the motivation to write suddenly goes down when things like these cut you off just when you are in the momentum to type in every single thought that wants to burst out of your brain. Can you imagine how frustrating is that???

Although I don't consider myself a "professional" writer or blogger, I do write because I love to and not just because I have nothing to do (obviously, I barely have time for myself being a mother). I feel like I'm unloading a pile of thoughts out of head everytime I write and publish a post. Its my euphoria.

And so from now on, I've decided that this is going to be my mantra every day until I convince myself apply this in my life:

I really, really wish to become a better blogger. But I do know for a fact that the only way I can be better in this field is by writing even more. So goodluck to me on to becoming a professional writer and blogger. I am starting to believe that this is the profession I am gonna be someday which I will never want to retire.

Dear Universe, please let me be a professional blogger! Thank you in advanced!

As a Filipino, we must always do our part in making this country a livable one. And one way to do that is to vote. I am not going to endorse or suggest any candidate as I believe we all have different opinions and preferences and I totally have enough drama in my Facebook newsfeed from friends who, all of a sudden, became political analysts.

My only advice is for all Filipinos around the globe to not just vote, but be a responsible voter. Do your own research instead of reading rants in social media or listening to hearsay from people. It is our "right" and "privilege" to vote. Its not just some plain task to accomplish. Because in voting, we declare our love for our country and for our fellow Filipinos. In voting, we are not elite or middle class or poor, we are not Tagalog or Visaya, or Mindaueno, we are not pro or anti whatsoever. In voting, we are Filipinos and we hope for the best not just for ourselves but for this beautiful country we call our own.

If you are a responsible voter, then I definitely salute you! And as some establishments recognize your effort and time for being a responsible Filipino, here are some treats waiting for you after you vote on May 9:
